Breaking Benjamin frontman stops concert to feud with Fallout 4 modder
Breaking Benjamin lead singer Benjamin Burnley took a five-minute break from his own concert to wage a very public war with a fellow Fallout 4 modder.
According to IGN and PC Gamer, Burnley paused a show in Holmdel, New Jersey, to rant about a modder who he says bullied him and criticized his work. He urged the crowd to download his "True First Person" mod for Fallout 4 to "blow his fucking downloads out of the water."
Per footage posted online, the singer detailed the beef. "There was a modder in the community that was really mean to me and bullying me, saying, 'Oh, your mod is shit. You don't know what you're fucking doing,'" Burnley told the audience, as reported by PC Gamer. He asked fans to "help me destroy this fucking jerk."
Production staff at the venue put the mod's name and Burnley's Nexus Mods username, "killemloud," on the big screen. The mod, which makes the player's full body visible in first-person view, is tagged as "AI assisted" on the site. Rock Paper Shotgun notes it had just over 2,300 downloads at the time of their report.
Not everyone was there for the gaming drama. One concertgoer was heard shouting "Play some music!" during the lengthy promo. Burnley wrapped up by saying he'd be promoting the mod every night and thanked the crowd for their patience.
