Cameron Diaz's Bad Day gets a trailer ahead of December Netflix debut

Netflix has dropped the first trailer for its upcoming Cameron Diaz comedy Bad Day, per Variety. The clip shows Diaz's character, a single mom named Joy, having a spectacularly terrible 24 hours.

Her misfortunes include her car being towed, her bank account being frozen, and dealing with passive-aggressive pilates moms. According to TheWrap, things escalate when she's accused of trying to rob a bank and finds herself in a high-speed chase on a bus driven by her father, played by Ed O'Neill.

The film, described by Variety as a "big-heart mom-com," follows Joy as she tries to keep a pinky promise to attend her youngest daughter's soccer game. The plan is derailed by a series of escalating disasters, including taking her dad to a dialysis appointment and proving her innocence in a bank fraud case.

Bad Day is directed by Jake Szymanski, who helmed Jury Duty, and written by Laura Solon. The supporting cast includes Danielle Brooks, John Higgins, Rhenzy Feliz, Mark Duplass, and Rob Corddry.

The movie hits Netflix on December 11, marking Diaz's second film with the streamer.
