Crystal Lake creator teases Jason's role and bloody kills for A24 series
The upcoming A24 series "Crystal Lake" is already promising carnage. According to a report from JoBlo, showrunner Brad Caleb Kane teased the role of Jason Voorhees and the level of gore fans can expect.
Kane indicated that the series, which serves as a prequel to the "Friday the 13th" films, will expand the mythology. The story will prominently feature Pamela Voorhees, Jason's mother, as an origin point.
Per JoBlo, the series promises plenty of bloody kills in line with the franchise's legacy. The showrunner's comments suggest the prequel will explore the events that set the stage for the iconic slasher's reign of terror at Camp Crystal Lake.
The series stars Linda Cardellini as Pamela Voorhees. An early screening of the project reportedly took place at the Toronto International Film Festival.
