Elden Ring film script locked down, Amazon MGM bags streaming rights

A24 is guarding its upcoming Elden Ring movie with an almost Marvel-level of secrecy, according to Polygon.
The outlet reports that distributor A24 is flying staffers to international buyers so they can read director Alex Garland's script under supervision, a move described as an "industry first." The script is reportedly a whopping 180 pages, which could translate to a nearly three-hour runtime.
Deadline adds that Amazon MGM has acquired the Pay-1 streaming rights for numerous international markets in a deal potentially worth tens of millions of dollars. The report also claims there could be "interesting activations" on Amazon's Twitch platform.
Per Deadline, the film will follow a protagonist played by Kit Connor, speculated to be a Tarnished warrior battling monsters and dragons in the Lands Between. A presentation for the film is scheduled for the American Film Market in November.
The A24 adaptation, which has already wrapped filming, is slated for a theatrical and IMAX release on March 3, 2028.
