Erik Poppe's 'Beloved' to Open Norwegian International Film Festival
Norway's cinematic talent is getting a major spotlight this summer. According to Variety, Erik Poppe's new film 'Beloved' has been selected to open the 54th Norwegian International Film Festival in Haugesund.
Festival chief Tonje Hardersen stated that after the nation's recent success in soccer, 'all eyes are on Norway' to see what it offers in film. The festival, which runs from August 22nd to the 28th, will feature 84 feature-length movies.
The opening slot for 'Beloved' suggests the drama is one of the country's most anticipated releases of the season, poised to kick off the event with significant local pride.
