Final Fantasy 14's Evercold expansion gets a new shield job and FF7 collab
Square Enix just dropped a fresh batch of news for Final Fantasy 14's next major update. The upcoming Evercold expansion will introduce a brand new job that fights with massive shields, a concept Rock Paper Shotgun cheekily notes is perfect for Dark Souls fans who love to dual-wield them.
According to Nintendo Life, the expansion is officially set to launch in January 2027. The company also confirmed the game will be coming to the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2.
Alongside the shield-wielding job, a new crossover raid series is on the way. This collab event will bring elements from the legendary Final Fantasy 7 into the world of Eorzea.
