Former Dragon Age Producer Says Remaster Trilogy Is Now Impossible

The chances of a Mass Effect-style remaster for the classic Dragon Age games appear to be zero. According to former series producer Mark Darrah, BioWare has lost the crucial institutional knowledge needed to work on the old games' engine, making the project unfeasible.

Darrah told FRVR that he doubts anyone left at the studio would even pitch a new Dragon Age title, let alone a remaster. He also suggested that executives likely wouldn't allow such a pitch to proceed.

In his comments, reported by PC Gamer, Darrah described publisher EA as 'a hedge fund with a videogame hobby,' implying a focus on profit over passion projects like revisiting classic RPGs.
