Godzilla Minus Zero trailer lands, setting stage for 2026 return
The Oscar-winning kaiju is stomping back to theaters. Collider reports that a trailer for 'Godzilla Minus Zero' has arrived, previewing the sequel's story.
The film is set in 1949, two years after Japan was left devastated by both the war and a prior attack from the giant lizard. Just as the nation begins to piece itself back together, a fresh catastrophe arrives.
According to a quote in the report, the country's hard-won recovery is instantly shattered by a new menace. The logline declares this to be the final confrontation.
The cast sees the return of Ryunosuke Kamiki as Kōichi Shikishima and Minami Hamabe as Noriko Ōishi, among others. New additions include Masami Nagasawa as a weather forecaster and Jun Kunimura as Dr. Ogata.
Following the massive box office success and historic Visual Effects Oscar win of its predecessor, 'Godzilla Minus Zero' is scheduled to hit North American and IMAX screens on November 6, 2026.
