Harry Potter series casts James, Lily, and Charlie Weasley for Season 1

The upcoming Harry Potter series for HBO has locked in three key cast members that signal a shift from the film adaptations. According to Variety, Charlie Weasley will be played by Harry Gilby, while Jasper Talbot and Hannah Chinn are set to portray Harry's parents, James and Lily Potter.

Charlie Weasley, the dragon-taming Weasley brother, was notably absent from the first film. His inclusion points to the series incorporating more book-accurate details that the movies omitted.

Casting for James and Lily also suggests a correction. As reported by /Film, the film series depicted Harry's parents as significantly older. Talbot and Chinn are younger actors, aligning with the book canon that the Potters were in their early twenties when they died.

The series, which adapts 'Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone,' is slated for a late 2026 debut on HBO's streaming platform.
