'House of David' Will End With Its Upcoming Third Season
The Biblical epic "House of David" is officially coming to an end. Per Variety, Amazon MGM Studios and Wonder Project announced that the show's currently filming third season will be its last.
Production on the final season is underway in Greece. The creators, Jon Erwin and Jon Gunn, had always envisioned the series as a three-season story, the outlet reports.
In a statement, executive producers Erwin and Gunn said they are "incredibly grateful" to be finishing the story. "Season Three brings us to the final season of this trilogy," they said, adding they hope audiences "feel just how far David has come."
Star Michael Iskander, who plays David, reflected on the journey. "Playing David has changed my life," he told Variety. He said exploring the character's "courage" and "flaws" has been an "extraordinary experience."
The official logline for Season 3 teases David's final transformation. It describes him as a "hunted outlaw" forced to hide among enemies, exploring "the true cost of destiny" before he can rise to the throne.
