Jensen Ackles to Star as Ex-Cop Hunting a Serial Killer in MGM+ Series Rules of Prey
Jensen Ackles is tackling a new role on MGM+. The actor will lead the series 'Rules of Prey,' playing Lucas Davenport, a former Minneapolis police detective who was ousted from the force for his unorthodox methods, per TVLine.
The show's logline says Davenport is pulled back in when a clever serial killer begins targeting Minneapolis residents, seemingly sending a message directly to him. This kicks off a psychological battle between the brilliant investigator and his equally smart foe.
Bruce Terris, who created the series, is on board as the executive producer and showrunner. He will produce alongside Ackles. Filming for the eight-episode first season starts this month in Toronto.
An MGM+ executive said in a statement that Ackles' star power and Terris' take on John Sandford's 'Prey' book series is a perfect match for the streamer's brand of suspenseful storytelling.
