John Oliver locks down HBO and 'Last Week Tonight' through 2027

John Oliver locks down HBO and 'Last Week Tonight' through 2027

John Oliver isn't going anywhere. The host has inked a deal to keep 'Last Week Tonight' on HBO until at least the end of 2027, Variety confirms.

In an exclusive with The Hollywood Reporter, Oliver joked about the network's corporate future, referring to potential new owners as his "prospective business daddies." He says he's trying to ignore the ownership uncertainty by sticking to a personal motto: "You always want to be exactly as much trouble as you are worth."

The deal extension, however, is reportedly only for one additional year, with options carrying the show through 2027.
