Marshals finale blows up with a returning Season 1 foe and Kayce Dutton trauma

This week's episode of "Marshals" ended with a literal bang, per TVLine. The team's hunt for Rudy Carpenter, a fugitive first seen in Season 1, culminated in a barn shootout where the injured villain detonated a bomb, trapping himself alongside Kayce and Andrea as the episode concluded.
The hunt was led by Andrea as training for her future role filling in for Cal. Her aggressive tactics with Kayce to get information caused some friction with Cal, though they ultimately located Carpenter, who posed a major bombing threat.
The episode also dove into Kayce Dutton's past trauma. A nightmare flashback showed a young Kayce tending to the "Y" brand burned into his chest, a reference to his father's punishment on "Yellowstone." Later, while investigating at a country club, Belle asked if his family belonged there, to which Kayce replied, "My brother and sister did. ... I was born for the barn, not the country club."
Andrea's own struggles continued, as she hallucinated a figure from her kidnapping in a mirror, signaling her PTSD is not under control. TVLine also noted the clear romantic tension building between her and Kayce, highlighted by a late-night "You up?" text.
Meanwhile, Miles remained troubled about keeping Cal's medical diagnosis from Maddie, a secret Kayce insisted they must respect.
