Marta Kauffman's 'DINKS' first improvised multi-cam sitcom for Amazon
Amazon has just greenlit its first-ever multi-camera sitcom, and it's coming from 'Friends' creator Marta Kauffman. The show, titled 'DINKS', stands for 'dual income, no kids' and will be the first fully improvised multi-cam comedy, per Variety.
Real-life married couple June Diane Raphael and Paul Scheer are set to star. The Hollywood Reporter notes the series is a production from Amazon MGM Studios, Lionsgate Television, and Publicis Media's entertainment arm.
While multi-cam comedies are a staple of network TV, Amazon is now diving into the format with a unique, unscripted twist that could either be brilliant or a total mess. All eyes are on Kauffman to see if she can recapture that magic in a brand new way.
