Marvel Officially Announces David Jonsson as New T'Challa for 2028's Black Panther 3
Marvel Studios is officially bringing back the Black Panther. According to Variety and The Hollywood Reporter, the studio confirmed at San Diego Comic-Con that David Jonsson will star as Prince T'Challa II, the son of the late Chadwick Boseman's character, in 'Black Panther 3.'
The sequel is scheduled for a December 15, 2028 release. Winston Duke, who plays M'Baku, is officially returning and voiced his support for Jonsson, saying he trusts him as an artist.
However, the casting raises a significant question for the Marvel Cinematic Universe, per /Film. The studio now has the tricky problem of explaining how this new T'Challa fits into the story following Boseman's legacy.
