Marvel's Wolverine Secret Ending Teases Apocalypse and a New X-Men Game
The secret endings for Marvel's Wolverine have fans buzzing, as the story points directly toward the iconic villain Apocalypse and future games.
According to a Polygon report, the final cutscene shows Jean Grey confronting Apocalypse by name after defeating the main villain. In the farm scene that follows, Jean hints at a larger threat, worrying about new mutants waking up to a world that hates them.
Logan then reveals he can't stay, as he needs to find out who he was and what Apocalypse knows, implying he will hunt the villain down. The outlet notes this strongly suggests a sequel or DLC path.
A post-credits scene shows Sabretooth alive and hunting Apocalypse, who speaks to him cryptically about a game board being set and a time for 'War'. Polygon reports this implies Sabretooth is being set up to become War, one of Apocalypse's Horsemen.
The report also references a 2023 internal Insomniac leak that suggested a new X-Men game was planned, potentially continuing this Apocalypse storyline. While release dates from the leak are not set in stone, the ending clearly sets up a multi-game saga.
