Monster Hunter Wilds Hits Nintendo Switch 2 This December
Capcom has locked in a release date for Monster Hunter Wilds on the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2. According to IGN, the game will launch on December 4, 2026.
The announcement came during a September Nintendo Direct. The Switch 2 version will come fully loaded with all the post-launch title updates that have been released for other platforms. This includes additional content like the Grand Hub area, monsters such as Mizutsune and Lagiacrus, and a crossover event with FINAL FANTASY XIV Online.
Per the reports, the port will also support local wireless cooperative play, allowing hunters to team up in the same room. Full cross-platform multiplayer for online play is also confirmed.
Capcom had previously stated the game was coming to Switch 2 but held back a specific date until now. Eurogamer notes the release is set for December 5 in some regions.
The news also included a reminder about the game's first major expansion, Monster Hunter Wilds: Ascendance. Nintendo confirmed the expansion will arrive on Switch 2 at some point in 2027.
