Nintendo quietly gives Super Mario logo a fresh 3D makeover
Nintendo has reportedly given the Super Mario brand logo a subtle 3D facelift, according to a report from Nintendo Life. The change was spotted on the official Super Mario webpage, where the classic stacked logo now appears with new three-dimensional lettering.
The update follows the recent conclusion of the franchise's 40th anniversary celebrations. Nintendo also reportedly released several new, more detailed renders of Mario on its website.
Nintendo Life noted that the company recently posted a thank-you message on its Japanese site for fans who participated in the anniversary festivities. The celebration saw the release of several Mario-themed products, including the Super Mario Galaxy movie, new amiibo, and DLC for Super Mario Bros. Wonder.
The new logo places the words 'Super Mario' on a single line, a departure from the previous stacked design. While the change is subtle, it marks a fresh look for the iconic mascot as the company moves beyond its 40th anniversary milestone.
