Paul Feig in Talks to Direct a New 'Italian Job' Movie at Paramount
Paramount Pictures is developing a new film in 'The Italian Job' franchise, and per The Hollywood Reporter, director Paul Feig is in early talks to take the wheel.
This project would serve as a follow-up to the studio's 2003 heist movie. That film, directed by F. Gary Gray, featured a cast including Mark Wahlberg, Charlize Theron, and Edward Norton as thieves seeking revenge and a stolen fortune. Its signature action sequences involved a trio of Mini Coopers.
According to TheWrap, the 2003 film was a box office success, earning $176 million worldwide. Talks for a sequel have occurred before but never moved forward until now. Paramount is currently seeking a writer for the new project.
Feig is coming off a major hit with the thriller 'The Housemaid,' which grossed $400 million globally this past winter. He is already preparing a sequel, 'The Housemaid's Secret,' for Lionsgate, slated for late 2027.
