Paul Walker's brother shuts down AI return for final Fast and Furious film
Paul Walker's brother has no interest in helping bring the late actor's character back for the grand finale of the Fast and Furious series. Cody Walker told Entertainment Weekly that while AI technology could theoretically be used to resurrect Brian O'Conner, he personally wants no part in it.
According to Variety, Cody explained that there is unused footage from previous films that could be utilized. He stated the studio's VFX teams "could figure that out." However, he is firmly against the idea of personally performing as a stand in for his brother in the upcoming 2028 movie, "Fast Forever."
Cody said the decision should rest with Paul Walker's daughter, Meadow. "My stance is, it's what Meadow wants to see done; it's her father," he said. He added that he loves how Brian's storyline concluded in "Furious 7," with the character alive and raising his family off-screen.
This position puts him at odds with franchise star Vin Diesel, who has publicly insisted that reuniting Dom and Brian is a key condition for the final film. Cody told EW he has spoken to Diesel but remains in the dark about any potential cameo, saying, "I have no idea what to expect there."
