Wesley praised Morton's performance, calling him a true professional who brought vulnerability to a role that could have been one-dimensional. He said working with Morton made him step up his own game.
The actor also discussed Kirk's relationship with his brother Sam, describing them as "oil and water" but brothers who share a history. He noted Kirk is more ambitious and suspicious, which plays into his journey toward becoming the confident captain fans know.
