Persona Producer Says Remakes of Persona 1 and 2 Are 'Probably' Coming
Atlus is apparently not done revisiting its back catalog after Persona 3 Reload and the upcoming Persona 4 Revival. Series producer Kazuhisa Wada has stated that remakes of the first two games in the series are on the table, per Eurogamer.
Speaking to Rock Paper Shotgun, Wada framed remakes as a form of preservation. He said it's a creator's duty to ensure older works aren't lost to time and remain accessible today. From that viewpoint, he noted that Persona 1 and 2 are titles the team will likely tackle eventually, according to the report.
Push Square notes this isn't the first time Wada has hinted at these projects. In a prior interview, he reportedly stated that such remakes are something the team should and must do.
No official projects have been announced. With Persona 4 Revival scheduled for February, any potential reveal for the earlier games would likely come much later.
