Pierce Brosnan gives his blessing to Callum Turner as James Bond

Former 007 Pierce Brosnan is throwing his support behind a particular actor in the James Bond casting sweepstakes. In an interview with Vanity Fair, per The Hollywood Reporter, Brosnan singled out Callum Turner, his co-star from 2017's *The Only Living Boy in New York*, as a strong contender.
Brosnan called Turner "so strong" and praised the entire field of young actors reportedly in the running. "All the men who are on the list now are actors I admire," he said, adding, "They all have a voice and a physique, and a presence on film."
The Hollywood Reporter notes that the current testing process includes both Turner and *Slow Horses* star Jack Lowden. While Lowden was an early favorite, Turner has reportedly surged ahead in recent betting markets.
Brosnan also weighed in on director Denis Villeneuve taking over the franchise. "I think we are going to be blown away," he said, calling Villeneuve's filmmaking "sensuous" and predicting the new Bond film will be "truly magnificent."
