PSN Outage Blocks Marvel Tokon Beta, Sparks Digital Debate

PlayStation Network went down for over six hours today, leaving players globally unable to access their games and accounts, according to reports from IGN and GameSpot. The timing was particularly brutal for fans of Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls, as the outage hit just as its open beta went live, per VGC and Kotaku.

Sony's official status page now says all services are up and running, as reported by Push Square. But the hours-long disruption has reignited the debate over an all-digital future for consoles.

The outage had users pointing to the benefits of physical game copies, notes IGN. This comes just weeks after Sony announced it will stop manufacturing PS5 discs, making the timing of today's server problems feel especially ironic.
