Spider-Man Leak Draws Millions, Then Smashes Box Office Records
A high-quality bootleg of 'Spider-Man: Brand New Day' leaked online before its release, with Variety reporting it was viewed millions of times before being taken down. An account named Fredrick Bryan posted the video, which reportedly reached 5.9 million accounts.
Despite the leak, the Tom Holland-led film is already a monster at the box office. The Hollywood Reporter says it delivered a record $72 million in previews, beating 'Avengers: Endgame'.
In a surprising seal of approval, the notoriously hard-to-please comic legend Frank Miller praised the movie. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Miller called it a "fan's dream come true," a notable shift from his past critiques of other superhero films.
