Spider-Man topples Avengers with record $360 million opening weekend
Spider-Man just landed a knockout punch on his former allies. According to Variety, "Spider-Man: Brand New Day" has swung to a record-breaking $360 million domestic opening, officially claiming the biggest debut in box office history.
The new figure, up from earlier Sunday estimates of $355 million, means the wall-crawler's latest adventure has finally toppled the previous champ, "Avengers: Endgame." So much for that whole "Avengers Assemble" thing.
It seems a single hero with great power and great responsibility is all you need to make cinematic history these days. The Avengers might want to check their egos at the door.
