Stellar Blade Dev Defends AI Music Video For Sequel, Says View With 'Understanding'
The studio behind Stellar Blade is facing heat for an AI-generated music video promoting its upcoming sequel, Blood Rain. According to IGN, Shift Up's CEO has responded to the wave of player backlash against the promotional clip.
Eurogamer reports the CEO urged fans to view the video with "understanding in mind." The clip features a new protagonist, Evie, singing in a pop song set in the game's world.
However, the response has been largely negative, with critics labeling it "AI slop," per PC Gamer. Push Square notes the studio countered that the character Evie herself "was created by our talented artists," but this has done little to quell the controversy.
