The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon's final season gets 2027 date, first look and Jimmy Smits
The long road for Norman Reedus’s crossbow-wielding survivor is getting a finish line. According to reports from Variety and TVLine, AMC+ has set 2027 for the premiere of the fourth and final season of ‘The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon’ and released a first-look teaser.
The brief clip, described by TVLine, shows a battered Daryl waking up in a hospital bed. The teaser cuts to images of walker hordes overrunning the Spanish countryside. As Daryl regains consciousness, a new character played by Jimmy Smits looks down at him and says, “Welcome home, son.”
Per the outlets, Smits joins the cast as Captain Alejandro Perkins. The character is described as an ex-military doctor who has carved out his own unusual path to stay alive in the zombie apocalypse.
The final season will follow Daryl and Melissa McBride’s Carol as they travel through the devastated landscapes of Spain. The cast also includes Romain Levi, Eduardo Noriega, and Óscar Jaenada.
The series, a spinoff from the original ‘The Walking Dead’, first launched in 2023. This concluding chapter will wrap up a story for the character that began back in 2010.
