Xbox price hikes hit worldwide, Series S now costs more than launch Series X
Microsoft's price hikes for Xbox consoles are now in effect globally, making a new system a much pricier purchase. GameSpot reports the increases started August 1, with US 512GB models jumping $100 and 1TB systems up by $150.
In Europe, the spike is even more dramatic. According to PC Gamer, prices there have shot up by 25% to 30%. This means the current Xbox Series S now costs more than the Xbox Series X did at its original launch price.
The move has left critics questioning the value. PC Gamer's report bluntly questions if the console was even worth its original price tag before the increase.
