The show
Legendary warriors Ax Battler, Tyris Flare, and Gilius Thunderhead reunite to save Yuria from the evil giant Death Adder, who just won't seem to stay dead. Their quest is complicated by Hampton Squib, an inexperienced and wildly underprepared adventurer whose dream of heroism far exceeds his abilities. Forced to work together despite their flaws, they must find a way to stop Death Adder once and for all.

People are really enjoying this fantasy romp, with Matthew Rhys's grizzled voice work as Gilius Thunderhead and Mike McMahan's writing getting a lot of the credit. The story and humor land well, and the classic heroes, Ax Battler and Tyris Flare, are solid, but the show’s secret weapon might be the divisive Hampton Squib; some find Danny Pudi's underprepared adventurer hilarious, while others just find him annoying. The main complaint is that the pacing can drag a bit in the middle, but the strong visuals and overall fun vibe make it an easy watch.
