People love the gory, slick visuals, but the story itself is a mess, it's seen as unoriginal, thin, and poorly paced, which drags everything down. Simon McQuoid's direction gets singled out for criticism, while Kitana and a briefly-seen Baraka earn some praise. It's a very mixed bag: fun for the fights and one-liners, but forgettable otherwise.
