The film
When a catastrophic hurricane slams a coastal town, stranded residents must survive rapidly rising waters swarming with ravenous sharks.
People are split on this survival flick, but the main takeaway is that it's a generic shark attack movie that leans on familiar tropes. Phoebe Dynevor's Lisa Fields, a pregnant woman, is stranded with others as sharks close in, but the story and characters feel too thin to be engaging. The few who liked it point to the decent visuals and some effective humor, while many found the plot and its execution, including director Tommy Wirkola's style, to be underwhelming. The sharks themselves get a mixed reaction, and the character Dakota is the only one who gets consistent praise.
