Adam Driver says Kylo Ren is finished, 'The Hunt for Ben Solo' ship has sailed
Star Wars fans hoping for more Adam Driver as Kylo Ren are officially out of luck. The actor has declared his time with the franchise is over.
During an appearance on The Rich Eisen Show, Driver was asked about a potential return. "Yeah, it's over," he said, per Variety. "No more 'Star Wars.'"
Driver elaborated on a specific project that failed to launch, a Kylo Ren-focused film tentatively titled The Hunt for Ben Solo. According to TheWrap, Driver and director Steven Soderbergh worked on the concept for two years with writers.
Despite developing a script, Disney and Lucasfilm passed on the idea. "We tried to do one more, yeah, but they were like, 'No, he's dead,'" Driver said, referencing Ben Solo's fate in The Rise of Skywalker.
The actor acknowledged passionate fan campaigns for the project, including billboards and aerial banners. While he said someone at the studio could still revive it, he personally believes "the ship has sailed."
