Blizzard shadow-drops first new Warcraft 3 campaign in over two decades
Blizzard just pulled a surprise on fans by releasing a fresh story campaign for the classic RTS Warcraft 3. According to reports from IGN and PC Gamer, the add-on, titled Forsaken Kingdom, is available right now.
The new content serves as a prologue, exploring events in Lordaeron after Prince Arthas's fall and detailing how the Undercity became home to the Forsaken. Per GameSpot, the campaign will feature characters like Sylvanas Windrunner.
PC Gamer reports the campaign is split into two parts and is being sold as a standalone download for $30. It launches alongside a free update, version 3.0, for Warcraft 3 Reforged, which includes improvements to the game's World Editor.
The shadow-drop happened during the BlizzCon 2026 opening ceremony. This marks the first official new story campaign for the 24-year-old strategy title in over two decades.
