Modern Warfare 4's iconic map Shipment arrives just four days after launch

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 has already received its first post-launch map, and it's a fan favorite. According to reports from IGN and Eurogamer, the chaotic map Shipment is now live in the game's multiplayer, having been added a mere four days after the game's launch on October 23.
Eurogamer notes this speedy addition is unusually quick for the series, as Shipment typically arrives a couple of weeks post-launch with a game's first season. The map is available in the standard 6v6 rotation and, per IGN, a dedicated Shipment 24/7 playlist, a mode popular for quickly leveling up weapons and completing challenges.
The new iteration features the classic, cramped layout set in a shipping yard but with a refreshed urban environment. IGN reports the map has a history of being a happy accident, originally created as a test environment in 2007 and mistakenly left in the final build of Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare.
Eurogamer speculates that the map's early arrival might be a tactic to maintain player engagement. The game's first full season of post-launch content is scheduled to begin on November 6, according to both outlets.
