Kojima Productions has released a teaser for Death Stranding Isolations, the anime series set in the world of Hideo Kojima's games. It's coming to Disney+ in 2027.
The show isn't a retelling of either game. It follows a separate set of characters somewhere in North America, during the same stretch of time when Sam Bridges is crossing the continent to reconnect it. Each of them is coping with being cut off in their own way: an old man who wants salvation outside the network Bridges is building, a female warrior who wants a world of endless fighting, a boy who resents Bridges, and a girl who has made peace with being alone. Their stories meet as the world nears its end.
It's drawn the old-fashioned way, in hand-drawn 2D animation from E&H Production. Takayuki Sano is directing, Ilya Kuvshinov created the original character designs, and Kojima is an executive producer.
Isolations is one of several Death Stranding adaptations in the works. Death Stranding Mosquito, an anime film from ABC Animation, was first teased in September 2025, and a live-action Death Stranding movie is in development at A24.
