GTA 6 physical copies hit shelves early as ISP offers speed boost for giant download

Grand Theft Auto 6's physical copies are arriving on store shelves a couple of days sooner. GameSpot reports Rockstar Games has moved the in-store availability of the code-in-a-box edition up to November 10, a shift from the original November 12 date.

For the many players who will be downloading the game, be prepared for a massive file. The title clocks in at a hefty 212GB for its November 19 launch.

One internet provider, Spectrum, is seizing on that large file size for a promotion. According to GameSpot, the company is offering members a "free Gig Speed Lift" from November 9 through 30 to help with the download, claiming it has "no cost and no strings attached."

Meanwhile, a separate survey suggests strong demand for an online component that Rockstar hasn't confirmed. Research firm Piper Sandler polled 9,000 teenagers, with 90% saying they intend to play GTA Online. As reported by GameSpot, GTA 6 is currently positioned as a strictly single-player experience with no online mode announced.
