Ian McKellen gave Anthony Mackie a sweet Captain America blessing on set
Anthony Mackie got a major vote of confidence from a legendary actor after taking up Captain America's shield. According to a report from Variety, the wholesome moment happened on the set of the upcoming "Avengers: Doomsday."
Mackie recalled approaching Sir Ian McKellen on set. "I go to Ian McKellen, he goes, 'Hello, son,'" Mackie told IMDb via The Independent. After Mackie showered him with praise, McKellen had a simple message for the new Cap.
"You deserve that," McKellen reportedly told Mackie about his new superhero role. It seems the mantle is in good hands, at least according to one of cinema's great knights.
