Marvel's Wolverine appears to be censored in some regional releases, per Kotaku. Social media posts reportedly show scenes and dialogue referencing Mystique's marriage to her wife, Tyger, have been removed from the game.
Images shared online, including a censored wedding photo, seem to support the claims. A video on Reddit shows scenes where dialogue mentioning Mystique's 'wife' is cut while the background audio continues to play. Users in the Middle East have reportedly flagged these changes to developer Insomniac Games.
If accurate, this would follow a pattern for Sony. The publisher previously censored Pride flags and a mission featuring a gay couple in Marvel's Spider-Man 2 for Middle Eastern markets, as reported by Kotaku.
The outlet notes that same-sex relationships are illegal in several Middle Eastern countries. Sony has not yet commented on the reported alterations to Marvel's Wolverine.
