Mina the Hollower Sales Fund Yacht Club Stability and a New 3D Project

Yacht Club Games says its latest release, Mina the Hollower, pulled in enough cash to keep the lights on. According to a developer Reddit AMA covered by Eurogamer, studio director Sean Velasco confirmed the game provided financial stability, adding, "yes… for now!"
The title moved more than half a million units shortly after launch, putting it on a path toward the studio's earlier sales target. Before its release, the studio had described the project as a "make-or-break" moment following a difficult period.
With that pressure eased, the team is shifting focus. In the same AMA, developer Alec Faulkner stated that most of the studio is currently working on a new 3D game. He stopped short of confirming it as the long-rumored Shovel Knight 3D project, but teased that it's "gonna be soooooooo awesome."
Co-founder Nick Wozniak reflected on lessons learned, noting that attempting to split the team to work on multiple games was a misstep. He said keeping the team "tight and focused" is what helped Mina the Hollower succeed.
The developers also confirmed they are working on post-release features for Mina the Hollower, including expanded randomizer options and new speedrunning tools.
