Netflix greenlights a second season of teen rowing drama 'Crew Girl'
Netflix has already ordered more episodes of its new teen drama. Per The Hollywood Reporter, the streamer has renewed 'Crew Girl' for a second season, making the call less than two weeks after the show's September 10 debut.
The series follows Teagan Tao, played by Miku Martineau, a talented rower who joins her new school's boys' crew team as a coxswain after discovering there's no girls' team. The show tracks the resulting romantic and competitive drama.
Martineau released a statement expressing excitement for the next chapter. She said there is plenty of story left for the characters and promised a 'packed, juicy, drama filled' new season.
The show performed well in its early weeks on the platform. It debuted at number four on Netflix's English-language series chart and climbed to number two the following week, amassing 11.3 million views globally.
The cast also includes Jessica Paré, Sam Braun, Kyle Clark, and Thomas Cadrot. The series is a Blue Ant Studios production, created by Vivian Lin and Morwyn Brebner, with Lin and several others serving as executive producers.
