Plants vs Zombies board game heads to Kickstarter this October
PopCap's zombie-defending video game series is about to hit the tabletop. IGN reports that Mantic Games is bringing Plants vs Zombies to board games with a Kickstarter campaign launching on October 14.
According to the outlet, Mantic describes the project as a fast-paced cooperative game for one to four players. Teams will work together to fight off waves of zombies across a series of levels, each with unique objectives and enemy setups.
The game will be card-based, featuring Plant cards like Peashooters and Cherry Bombs, and Tool cards like shovels and lawnmowers. Players will simultaneously play Zombie cards that move the undead horde closer to the house, with the goal being to stop any zombie from reaching the home.
Mantic is also preparing a Deluxe Edition with pre-assembled miniatures of fan-favorite characters. A standalone expansion called the Night Edition will offer additional Plants, Zombies, and content to unlock.
