Resident Evil movie director promises 'really wild' and 'f**ked up' imagery
The upcoming Resident Evil film is aiming to be seriously weird and creepy, according to its director. Zach Cregger told Empire, via GamesRadar, that the video game adaptation will feature "really wild" sequences and "f**ked up and weird" imagery.
Cregger, who previously directed the horror hits Barbarian and Weapons, also expressed some uncertainty. Per GameSpot's report, he wondered if the "lightning-in-a-bottle" success of the spooky Aunt Gladys character from his film Weapons could be repeated for Resident Evil.
It sounds like the director is embracing the franchise's signature horror, even if he's keeping expectations in check for capturing that same magic twice.
