Sora and pals from Kingdom Hearts join Fortnite this week
The long-teased Kingdom Hearts crossover is finally happening in Fortnite, developer Epic Games has confirmed. Per IGN, a teaser trailer posted to the game's social channels shows protagonist Sora picking up his iconic keyblade and posing, confirming his arrival as a new in-game skin.
Text-based teasers suggest he won't be alone. According to reports from IGN and Push Square, the hints point to at least three other characters from the franchise joining the fray: Riku, Kairi, and Roxas. The official channels have not yet fully confirmed these additional skins.
The crossover is part of Fortnite's current Override season, which has been packed with video game character cameos. Push Square notes that Sora will be joining the battle royale "this week," looking slightly stylized to fit Fortnite's aesthetic and wielding a keyblade with a llama-themed keychain.
Override has already seen the addition of characters like Sonic the Hedgehog, Crash Bandicoot, and Mega Man. Rumors have swirled about other potential crossovers, including from franchises like Persona and Final Fantasy 7.
Meanwhile, Kingdom Hearts 4 is in development at Square Enix and is slated for release next year.
