Ubisoft's NFT RPG Champions Tactics to Shut Down in October
Ubisoft's foray into the world of NFTs appears to be coming to an abrupt end. The publisher has announced its blockchain-based RPG, Champions Tactics, will have its servers shut down this October, according to a report from VGC.
The game had already scrapped its Web3 functionality back in May, per PC Gamer, but that pivot wasn't enough to save it. Its fate now seems sealed, closing the book on a project that tried to blend tactical gameplay with controversial NFT technology.
It's a quiet, and somewhat unsurprising, exit for a title that struggled to find its footing. The servers will officially go dark in the fall.
