After her husband's abrupt death, a woman seeks solace with her in-laws. As one by one they transform into Deadites, she comes to discover that the vows she took in life survive even in death.

People mostly like this gory take on grief, where Souheila Yacoub's Alice finds her new in-laws turning into Deadites. The big win here is the look of the thing — the visuals are stunning and the Deadites themselves are a highlight. Where it loses people is the story, which gets called thin and a bit too familiar. Director Sébastien Vaniček gets a lot of the credit, but the cast's reception is a real mixed bag, with Tandi Wright's Susan getting slammed and some folks just not clicking with Yacoub's lead performance. It's a solid, stylish entry that works better as a bloody spectacle than a fresh plot.
