The real review
People are mostly positive about this horror flick, which gets credit for feeling original and looking great, even if the story itself is pretty weak. It’s about a weird doorway in a furniture showroom basement, and while the concept is a hit, the execution of the actual "backrooms" plot element left a few people cold. The characters, like Chiwetel Ejiofor's Clark, didn’t leave much of an impression, but director Kane Parsons gets a lot of the praise for pulling the creepy vibe together.
